GoProposal is a proposal and engagement letter platform built for accounting firms, based around pre-configured service menus with standardised pricing that staff assemble proposals from rather than quoting freehand.
The problem it addresses is fee inconsistency. In firms where several partners or managers quote independently, the same scope of work often gets priced differently depending on who wins the client — and the discrepancy usually surfaces only when clients compare notes or when a job proves unprofitable. Building a fixed menu with defined pricing rules removes that variation and makes fees defensible.
The secondary effect is scope control. Because services are itemised at the proposal stage, out-of-scope requests later in the relationship are visible against what was agreed, which gives staff a concrete basis for raising a variation rather than absorbing the work.
Service menus are configured once with pricing logic that can scale by client size, turnover, transaction volume, or entity count, so a proposal is assembled by selecting services rather than by writing a quote. Proposals are branded and delivered for digital signature.
Engagement letters are generated from the same selections, keeping the letter consistent with the scope quoted. Template wording is maintained against professional body requirements, which removes the burden of updating letters in house.
Accepted proposals can set up recurring payment collection through GoCardless, closing the gap between agreeing a fee and being able to bill it.
Firms wanting to standardise pricing and scoping across a team, particularly multi-partner practices with historically inconsistent fees, and UK firms that value maintained engagement letter templates.
Ignition is the main alternative and generally stronger on international coverage and automated billing. Cone and Anchor compete on proposal-to-payment workflow, with Anchor putting more emphasis on automated collection.
