WorkflowMax was a cloud-based practice management tool originally developed by Xero for job management, time tracking, quoting, and invoicing. Xero retired the product in June 2024, citing the need for significant investment to meet evolving customer expectations, and chose to focus on Xero Practice Manager instead.
Firms that used WorkflowMax relied on it for job costing, time recording, quoting, purchase orders, and invoicing, with data flowing directly into Xero for accounting and financial reporting.
What Happened
Xero signed an agreement with BlueRock, a tech-led business advisory firm, to take over the WorkflowMax brand and customer base. BlueRock completed over 15,000 account migrations in roughly five months. However, the transition has been rocky — user reviews indicate that basic processes now take significantly longer than they used to, support tickets sit unresolved for weeks, and features that existed in the original WorkflowMax are still missing or partially implemented.
