Dext (formerly Receipt Bank) is a data extraction platform that captures receipts, invoices, and bank statements, then pushes the extracted data into accounting software. It supports photo capture via mobile, email forwarding, and bulk upload from suppliers.

Accounting firms use Dext to eliminate manual data entry across their client base. Clients photograph or forward their receipts, and Dext extracts line-item details, matches them to supplier rules, and publishes the entries to Xero, QuickBooks Online, or Sage. Firms can manage all client accounts from a single dashboard, set up automated supplier rules per client, and review extracted data before it reaches the general ledger.

The platform also includes Dext Commerce (for e-commerce sellers) and a cost-of-sale tracking feature. It is particularly well-adopted in the UK, Australian, and North American accounting markets, and is a common first step for firms digitizing their client document collection workflows.
