Hubdoc

Hubdoc is a document collection and data extraction tool that automatically fetches financial documents — bills, receipts, bank statements — from hundreds of sources and extracts key data for publishing to accounting software. It is now owned by Xero and included with Xero subscriptions.

Accounting firms use Hubdoc to automate the collection of source documents from clients and their suppliers. The platform can connect directly to vendor portals and financial institutions to pull documents automatically, reducing the need for clients to manually forward or upload files. Extracted data is matched to existing transactions in the accounting ledger.

Hubdoc competes with Dext and AutoEntry in the document capture space. It is best suited for firms on the Xero platform, where it is included at no additional cost. Firms using QuickBooks or Sage may find Dext or AutoEntry a better fit given their broader platform support.
